Summer is the time to try something fun and fresh, so we wanted to show you a couple quick Summer trends to play around with. MyFoxPhoenix (Fox 10 Arizona) asked me to do a morning TV segment on my two favorite and super hot beauty trends for this season, so here they are:
1) Silvery Shadow and 2) Ombré Eyeliner.
I took a field trip to Sephora in search for the best products at multiple price points to show and tell.
Part 1: Silvery Shadow
When I think of silver eye shadow, I traditionally think New Years Eve … However for this Summer, silvery metallic eyes are in! As seen in Chanel’s Spring/Summer fashion shows, this futuristic shadow swiped across the eyelid is a fun yet simple way to have some adventure this Summer.
Now the one trouble I have always had with silver eyeshadow, is that it tends to turn blue when applied. So I made sure that my picks would stay true to color. Here they are:
Well the name says it all really … long-wearing and Bling! This brilliant silver has a sheen finish and adds a bright wash of silver to the eyelid.
B) Sephora Colorful Shadow in “Diamonds are forever” No 60 $13
This shimmer shadow can be applied lightly for a soft glittery finish or layered on for a bolder sheen finish. User beware, the glitter particles do tend to drop on your cheek bones… which can be a good thing if you want to spice up the look. If you don’t fancy the look, dab loose powder under your eyes before you start to protect from shadow drop.
C) Makeup Forever Aqua Cream in “Snow” #4 $23
This long-lasting and waterproof (perfect for pool time) cream based formula is multipurpose for eyes, cheeks, and lips. Snow is actually shimmery white in color. I selected this color for those who really have a hard time with silvers turning blue on their skin. Apply lightly all over the lid to use as a cream base, or layer it on to achieve a silver finish.
D) Sephora Perfecting & smoothing eye primer $14
Apply underneath your eye shadow to smooth surface area, minimize creasing, increase longevity of shadow application, and keep your shadows true to color and vibrant. Not only does this primer increase your shadow power, it’s chromospheres diffuse light (by bouncing light off in different directions) – softening the appearance of fine lines and brightens the eye area.

How to get the look:
Lindsay is modeling the silvery eyeshadow with simple black liner and mascara.
Here is what you need: Sephora Primer, Benefit Blingo, Black eye shadow or liner of your choice, mascara, and the following brushes:
Apply and blend Sephora Primer all over eye lid and under eye area either using your clean fingers or a concealer/small shadow brush. Using a small shadow brush generously load Benefit Blingo to the brush and deposit shadow color near the upper lash line and along the lower lid by dabbing the product on and then brushing it up into the crease. Using a smudging brush apply Blingo into the inner corner of the eyes and sweep along the lower lash line. Finally we wing lined the upper lash line using a black eye shadow and an angle brush, applied mascara, and voila! Super fast and fun-tastic all Summer long!
